Teacher-librarians are also teachers and therefore also typically have a bachelor’s degree in Education or a degree in something similar. They must hold a BC College of Teachers’ certificate, and have commonly taught in a classroom for several years. Although not necessary, many Teacher-librarians have a Master’s Degree in Library Science.

On-campus MLIS:
On-campus course for Master of Library and Information Studies. Course-based or thesis-based degree on a full-time or part-time basis.

MBA/MLIS:
Combined Master of Business Administration / Master of Library & Information Studies Program. Provides MLIS degree in conjunction with the Alberta School of Business' Master of Business.

- LIS 501 Foundations of Library and Information Studies: LIS 501 is required so as to provide a broad context for all of the other courses in the program, and is a pre-requisite or co-requisite for the other required courses.

- LIS 504 Leaderships and Management Principles for Libraries and Information Services
- LIS 505 Introduction to Research in Library and Information Studies
- Two designated information technology (IT) courses.
- Masters Degrees usually take 1-2 years to complete.
- Course based route: 16 courses and a capping exercise = *48-credits
- Thesis based route: 13 courses and a thesis paper = *48-credits

- BUEC 503 - Economic Foundations
- BUS 505 - Ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility with Communications
- FIN 501 - Managerial Finance
- MGTSC 501 - Data Analysis and Decision Making
- MARK 502 - Principles of Marketing Management
- SMO 500 - Managing People
- SMO 641 - Business Strategy (Capping Exercise)

Students enrolled in the MBA/MLIS combined program will take nine (9) credits from the following three-credit required MBA management courses:
- BUS 505 - Ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility with Communications
- SMO 500 - Managing People
- SMO 652 - Leadership Skills
- MGTSC 501 - Data Analysis and Decision Making
- From 3-4 years.
- 2 Degrees need to be completed.
- 24 MLIS credits as follows:
- 12 credits in LIS required courses (LIS 501, LIS 502, LIS 503, LIS 505)
- Up to 6 credits in required Information Technology courses (see SLIS website for current offerings)
- Up to 6 credits in LIS Core Electives (IT or non-IT)
- 30 MBA credits as follows:
- 30 credits MBA required courses
- Mixed Year, 27 MBA/MLIS credits as follows:
- 15 credits MBA (SMO 641: 3-Credit Capping Exercise, and 4 MBA electives)
- 12 credits MLIS (Any 4 LIS electives and/or designated Information Technology course(s), and LIS 600: 0-credit Capping Exercise)
Course Fees:
I couldn't find the fees in MLIS Tuition and Funding or in MAB Tuition and Funding.

An MLIS will give you many skills that will make you a sought-after employee. Libraries are found in almost all areas, regions, communities in the world. Studies by the SLIS(School of Information and Library Studies) have concluded that graduates of SLIS programs have extremely high rates of employment in the library and information sciences field within three months to a year after graduation.
6.
Librarians have many qualifications that don't necessarily involve shelving books or pertaining to books in general. One of the key skills of a librarian is organization of information.
7.
In the library field, after obtaining a degree in MLIS. One can look for jobs in the information services field. Librarians can obtain jobs in areas including but not limited to: public relations, accounting and human resources, network administration, facilities management, transportation services and security.
